New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily stopped a crucial feature which allows you to alter your Aadhaar card's address without evidence of address.

UIDAI lets customers of Aadhaar cards to change their address and address without any documentation. Aadhaar cardholders can change their address, provided they are able to consent to the authentication for the verification of address. An address verifier can be a relative, friend landlord, family member or even a friend who permits the Aadhaar card owner to utilize their address as proof.

UIDAI has now stopped this feature. UIDAI replied to an Aadhaar Card Holder via tweets that updating address on the Aadhaar Card through the Address Validation Letter has been removed. UIDAI has asked to the Aadhaar provider to alert users that they are able to change their address by using another valid PoA document.

Dear Resident Please note that the service for the Address Validation Letter service has been discontinued until the next notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
